Summer Theatre Internships

ATF's summer internship offers a hands on experience across a full range of skills required to mount a professional production. While interns are assigned specific departments and supervisors, they are also expected to work outside their chosen area of focus.

In addition there is an intern project to produce the Children’s show - all positions would be needed including actors, director, designer, stage manager, sound design.

Internships are available in the following departments:

• Administration: marketing, fundraising, house management, company management, special events
• Stage management: assisting Equity PSM
• Lighting/Projections: assisting Lighting supervisor
• Sound: assisting Sound supervisor
• Props/Paint: assisting set designer and TD
• Wardrobe; assisting Costume designer
• Performance: acting in the Children’s show, special events and Administrative help.

Additionally, if time allows, all internships may include attendance at first rehearsals and designer run-throughs. As well as round table discussions with professional artists.

Compensation

Interns may opt to receive either college course credit or a weekly stipend of approximately $200. Internships are typically full-time commitments which are scheduled according to the rules of Actors Equity Association. However, it is sometimes possible to balance an internship with a summer class or a part-time job. Applicants should specify any potential scheduling conflicts in their application. ATF strives to make its internship program accessible to all qualified candidates.

Housing

Adirondack Theatre Festival encourages applications from candidates who live and/or study in the Southern Adirondack/Capital region. A limited number of no-cost housing options are available for interns traveling from more than 45 minutes away. Interns who are able to bring their own vehicle are encouraged to do so.
