Position Summary/Details:

Service Area Coordinator Intern is designed for students who are looking to build foundational skills, need structured guidance, and are working on projects that are manageable with oversight, while still applying learned knowledge in a professional context. The SAC/Supervisor/ Experienced staff members will offer directions, explain policies and procedures to ensure the intern is following established protocols.

Key Responsibilities and/ or Learning Objectives

Completing assigned tasks within defined parameters:

• Coordinating work and communications between fields, engineering, and administrative teams.
• Tracking work requests, outstanding items, and project status.
• Scheduling, organizing, and following up on operational activities.
• Develop deeper knowledge of utility distribution/design and engineering processes.
• Strengthen SAP, budgeting, and financial-tracking skills.
• Improve project coordination and workflow-management capabilities.
• Assist TEC Distribution Design staff as needed

Working Conditions

Normal Office Environment with occasional need to enter an operational environment where personal injury protection equipment may be required. (Safety Glasses/Steel Toe Boots/Hard Hat)

Qualification:

Education:

The successful applicant should be enrolled in an accredited university as a college undergraduate or a graduate level post-secondary educational program in a related discipline for the first semester the student joins the program.

Co-Op Requirements:

To qualify as a co-op student, enrollment in the university’s co-op program (proof of enrollment required); if not eligible for co-op program (or program unavailable), the student will be considered an intern.
