About the role
Spring Internship
Build Toward Opening Day.
Spring interns help get the organization ready for the season ahead, balancing office work with community programming and events.
Dates
January through May.
Compensation
Unpaid. Receiving academic course credit is highly preferred ... please consult your school's internship coordinator for details.
Schedule & Commitment
The majority of spring internship work happens in the office, with select weekends and evenings required for events as the season approaches ... including baseball games at Lexington County Baseball Stadium, business networking events, and community luncheons. Spring interns also work two off-site community events in Lexington: the Lexington County Chili Cookoff and the Shamrock Parade. Interns must have reliable transportation to Lexington County Baseball Stadium and these off-site event locations.
What You'll Focus On
Ticket and sponsorship sales, event operations (setup and teardown), ballpark upkeep, merchandise ideation and sales, and inventory management ... plus assisting with the Blowfish Reading Program and community relations. Interns can touch all areas of the organization, and other opportunities may arise as Opening Day approaches.
Who Should Apply
If You're a College Student, Apply.
Summer, Fall, and Spring internships are open to any current undergraduate or graduate student. We especially want to hear from students studying sports management, marketing, business, and sports media ... but if you're motivated, dependable, and ready to work, we want to talk to you.
