Spring Internship

The Office of Congressman George Whitesides (CA-27) seeks motivated candidates for our Spring 2027 internship program in our Washington, D.C., Palmdale, and Santa Clarita offices. Interns support the day-to-day work of our office while gaining firsthand insight into the legislative process of Congress and the inner workings of a congressional office. Interns will have the opportunity to work with the legislative, communications, and operations teams.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below, and other duties as necessary. The internship runs from January through late April/early May. In the Washington, DC office, interns will: Answer constituent phone calls Engage in constituent correspondence Give tours of the Capitol Attend policy briefings and meetings Research legislation for the legislative staff Assist with special projects as directed by office leadership Perform other duties as necessary In the Palmdale & Santa Clarita offices, interns will: Answer constituent phone calls Support district casework Engage in constituent correspondence Conduct research for policy briefings Assist with special projects as directed by the District Director Qualified applicants are friendly, detail-oriented, professional, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
