Project Description:
The Strategic Partnerships/ Community Engagement Department provides a variety of programs and events to the Pittsburgh community. The department works with dozens of arts organizations, universities, corporations, and community groups throughout the city and surrounding areas, to better connect diverse audiences and people of all ages, to the arts.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain Tessitura database of organizational strategic partners.
- Identify prospective strategic partners for specific organizational programs and initiatives around audience development.
- Assist with seasonal event logistics and communication where needed. This includes but is not limited to Gallery Crawls and BNY Mellon Presents JazzLive.
Learning Objectives:
- Self-Motivation: Intern will develop a sense of awareness for professional responsibility.
- CRM Experience: Intern will learn how to use Tessitura software, an application used by over 650 arts and culture organizations to manage ticketing, fundraising, customer relationships, and marketing activities.
- Effective Communication: Interns improve written and verbal communication skills by interacting with a wide constituency base, including first time event attendees, new strategic partners, and potential collaborators.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Interns will gain experience interacting with and working alongside staff on smaller tasks, as well as aiding with larger collaborative and ongoing projects.
Internship Requirements:
- 10-15 weeks, 10-12 hours per week (maximum 150 hours per semester)
- Rising junior, senior, or one year post undergraduate degree, or currently enrolled in a master's program.
