Summary

At the New York Power Authority, you will be empowered to think big, do good, and transform the energy industry. We are a collaborative team of over 2,400 energy technologists, IT specialists, business experts, hydro engineers, and diverse professionals leading the energy revolution. With state-of-the-art technology, advanced research and development, a modernized infrastructure, and a focus on environmental, social and governance (ESG), we provide New Yorkers with low-cost, clean, reliable power — and we are well on the way to becoming the first end-to-end digital utility in the country.

Strategic Supply Management (SSM) is establishing an intake process for Event Services to help centralize and standardize the sourcing, procurement, and management of event‑related services across the organization. The new process will serve as a single point of entry for services such as off‑premise catering, external meetings and venue space, promotional items, conference support, and event‑related audio‑visual (AV) services.

This individual will also support the implementation of intake processes for subscriptions and software, sponsorships, memberships, and other related requests.

The Summer Intern will support the day‑to‑day administration of this initiative. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to procurement operations, supplier management, process improvement, category management, stakeholder engagement, and procurement technology platforms.

The purpose of this internship is to provide operational support while offering the intern meaningful hands-on experience in strategic sourcing and category management. The tasks includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Support internal customer requests;
  • Maintain intake forms, analyze spend data and prepare reports;
  • Help track contracts/suppliers, category metrics;
  • Support development of any training material, FAQ's and process documentation;
  • Provide general project and administrative support ad needed

This internship will provide critical support during the launch/operations of the Event Services initiative, helping establish standardized processes, improve stakeholder engagement, and build a scalable foundation for future growth.

Our paid 10-week Summer Developmental Internship program runs from June 8th - August 13th, 2026. As an Intern, you will receive professional development, on-the job experience in the energy industry, exposure to executives, and networking opportunities to help build a solid foundation for your future career.

Applications will close on December 31st, 2026.
