Summary
Role Overview: Tops Peer Influencers are dedicated student leaders committed to promoting health and well-being among their peers at Tri-C. These student leaders, trained and certified through the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators’ (NASPA) Certified Peer Educator (CPE) program, play a crucial role in guiding students towards resources and support while facilitating activities that enhance health awareness and holistic well-being. The role emphasizes leadership, education, and positive impact, but does not involve providing medical or mental health counseling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Training: Complete 12-hour CPE Training and 2-hour QPR Suicide Prevention Training (paid trainings).
- Peer Support: Maintain a presence on campus, serving as a resource and referral point for peers.
- Social Media: Manage a social media presence to share educational content and direct students to resources.
- Committee Involvement: Participate in the Tri-C Help Is Here weekly “Tops Peer Influencer Committee” meetings to debrief and plan programming and messages, assist with material review and present gathered student feedback.
- Programming & Initiatives: Help plan and execute health and wellness programs and events, including Student Involvement Fairs, Success Week, and Wellness Fest.
- Advertising: Support the promotion of events and programs through various means.
- Video Production: Assist in creating promotional health-related video content for the HIH website, App, and other platforms.
- Presentation Delivery: Present on health and wellness resources and topics at various campus events, student groups, and academic classes.
- Wellness Wednesdays & Tabling: Plan and implement weekly health and wellness events to engage the Tri-C community.
