The Choral Area of the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and dependable student to serve as Choral Office Manager. This position plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations and overall success of the choral program by providing key administrative and logistical assistance.
This position reports Dr. Michael Murphy. QUALIFICATIONS The minimum education required for admittance as a student at Stephen F.
Austin State University. Must be a current Music major. No direct experience is required.
Training and instruction will be provided. Must be available to work two to three mornings per week. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Oversees the organization and maintenance of the choral music library, including cataloging, filing, inventory tracking, and distribution/collection of music for ensemble members.
Assists in the planning and execution of recruitment activities such as voice audition days, scholarship communications, acceptance packets, and summer camp mailings.
Responsibilities include scheduling, coordination, and correspondence. Supports logistical needs for rehearsals and performances, including space reservations, setup and teardown, and ensuring choral faculty and graduate students have the necessary materials and equipment for instruction and performance. NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESThe individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Knowledge of general office and clerical procedures and concepts. Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records and files. Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with university faculty and staff, students, and the general public. Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to demonstrate reliability. Student must have received a work-study award.

To be eligible for student employment during the summer, a student must be enrolled in three or more semester hours or be registered for courses in the upcoming fall semester.
Student assistants may not hold any other type of position such as a graduate assistantship or temporary casual employment at the same time that they are employed as a student assistant.
