About the role
Join UChicago Medicineas a Student Pharmacy Intern, Investigational Drug Services.Our Student Pharmacy Interns are registered pharmacy technicians who are currently enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy. Under the direction and supervision of a pharmacist, student pharmacy interns will be responsible for performing necessary functions to ensure research and pharmacy compliance and documentation. This includes maintaining and archiving pharmacy study files, gathering research pharmacy personnel documentation, and organizing to facilitate pharmacy operations. Additional responsibilities include medication delivery, quality improvement projects, and working among a multidisciplinary team of pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, and research staff
Essential Job Functions
- Review pharmacy files for clinical trials in preparation for audits, inspections, or close out. Complete study file close-out checklist and archive pharmacy files. Notify relevant stakeholders of study close out. Update databases to indicate study status and archived file location.
- Gather and file documentation to meet USP <795>, <797> and <800> requirements (cleanroom, non-sterile compounding areas). Assure completeness of documentation and follow-up on issues or missing documentation.
- Assist with quality improvement projects as needed to ensure safe, effective, and efficient pharmacy operations.
- Review and maintain current documentation for IDS pharmacy personnel research credentials (licensure, certificates, and training).
- Perform other pharmacy tasks including but not limited to general pharmacy organization, dispensing, medication compounding, automation support, and inventory management as applicable to site.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- Currently enrolled in an accredited College of Pharmacy
- Current or Eligibility for Illinois Pharmacy Technician Licensure with the designation "student pharmacist"
- Exceptional aptitude or knowledge may be considered in lieu of experience

In this role, we anticipate that you will generally work approximately 4 hours per week. We anticipate that you will generally be scheduled to work the variable shift & will not be scheduled for on-call shifts. We anticipate you will be scheduled to work 100% at the Hyde Park campus. The days you will be scheduled are part-time/weekdays
