Student - Research Assistant ROCKS GEL

The College of Science at Utah Valley University is seeking students to provide research support for an ongoing scientific project examining microplastic pollution.

This will include, but is not limited to, collecting samples in the field, processing field samples to remove contaminants, analyzing field samples for microplastics, maintaining a safe and clean laboratory environment, producing summaries and reports on laboratory findings, attending research group meetings, and disseminating findings to the greater community through posters and presentations.

• Must be a current UVU student

• Chemistry and/or physics majors

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Professionalism
• Organization skills
• Computer skills (Internet, Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Ability to be a team player
• Basic understanding of General Chemistry principles such as intermolecular forces and the nature of bonding
