Summary

As a FedEx Intern, you will be working on projects gaining you valuable, real-world experience in a professional environment as it relates to your field of study.

Essential Functions

  • Under close supervision, the successful candidate may assist with providing analytical support to drive efficiency, consistency and control throughout current business initiatives. The intern may assist with industry market research, global business intelligence, and emerging trends analysis.
  • The intern will analyze specific business metrics and research/analyze data, industry trends, and market information to gain insight into transportation and logistics metrics in identified industry vertical.
  • Present and deliver long-term solutions that will have significant impacts to the business and/or customer experience.
  • Participates in various networking and/or community service events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Detail

  • Generates computer aided quantitative and statistical business analysis by leveraging advanced tools and scientific modeling approaches related to customer analytics, market analysis and forecasting in support of the organization's global strategies.
  • Drives enterprise-wide business process engineering projects in collaboration with IT and business partners using software development paradigms (Agile, etc.)
  • Typically works in tandem with peers from other groups
  • Supports compliance and yield improvement activities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with computer-aided decision support (utilize computer languages or packages to analyze data and generate reports. Programming language (e.g. SQL, Python, C, Java, JavaScript or R), relational databases (e.g. Teradata, Oracle) or visualizations tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Google Looker)
  • Experience with Agile
  • Cloud Native Exposure: Experience with cloud infrastructure concepts. Preference of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services like BigQuery, GCS.

Minimum Education

Currently enrolled student or recent college graduate (within 6 months of graduation) at a college/university obtaining a 3.0 GPA or higher. Degree: Master’s degree program such as Business, Finance/Economics, Computer Science, Management, Project Management, Information Systems, Operations Management, Operations Research, Supply Chain/Logistics, Transportation, Engineering, Technology, Math, Marketing or other related major.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work productively and proactively, both independently and as a part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills.
  • Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals.
  • Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with across business units and to all levels of management.
  • Ability to analyze, review, and make recommendations.

Domicile

This is a hybrid position located in Memphis, TN. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx campus location several times per week.”
