Summer Independent Production Show Proposals (Grade 10-Age 20)

What if students ran the whole show? They do. The Summer Independent Production is a mentorship program unique to Village Theatre, putting students in charge of every aspect of production—performing, directing, stage managing, designing and building sets, creating costumes, running sound and lights, and more. Oh, and did we mention? SIP is completely tuition-free.

From a curated list of show selections, students prepare a proposal of the show the team would like to produce and then submit applications to be reviewed by the Village Theatre Artistic Director, Youth Education Leadership, and KIDSTAGE Production Staff.

• Proposal Preliminary Applications Due: September 10, 2026

• Production Team Interviews: February 8-19, 2027
• Cast Auditions: May 16-17, 2027 Audition information/registration coming April 2027
• Rehearsals: June 14–July 14, 2027
• Tech: July 15-22, 2027
• Performances: July 23–August 8, 2027
