About the role:
As a Product Engineering intern, you will report to the Grids & Core Component Design Manager and be located at our Columbia, SC facility. This is a paid full-time hybrid position for the summer, May - August 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine engineering design analyses using established Westinghouse developed methodologies to develop new nuclear fuel products and enhancements of existing fuel products
- Work in multifaceted teams with focus on new product development or issue resolution
- Initiate and support product testing activities of nuclear fuel and related components
- Evaluate test results and document results in related reports
- Work with customers, vendors, and other teams to support design activities
- Perform design changes to support manufacturability improvements
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Completed Sophomore year of college
- Knowledge of basic engineering principles and techniques
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $25.40 to $29.00 per hour.
