About the role

Spend your summer making an eternal impact while becoming the leader God created you to be. As a LeaderTreks Summer Intern, you'll coach student leaders, facilitate mission trips, and grow alongside experienced youth ministry leaders. Designed for young adults who have been out of high school for at least one year, this is more than a summer job—it's a summer that will shape your life.

A Day In Your Life As An Intern

BREAKFAST

  • Get to know students as you help them prepare breakfast for the team.
  • Help students practice leading along the way.

DEVOTIONS

  • Study a passage of Scripture, spend time in prayer, and prepare for spiritual conversations throughout the day.

SERVICE PROJECT

  • Invite students to lead various aspects of a work project or service project.
  • Cheer students on when they reach their goals.

LUNCH

  • Take a break with the team and refuel with a sandwich.
  • Then take time to share with the team a leadership principle for the day.

OUTREACH

  • Encourage students as they lead VBS programs or interact with different ministries.
  • Help students debrief their experience.

DINNER

  • Grab a frisbee and chat with a student about their life and faith during dinner prep.
  • Ask icebreaker questions of the team over dinner.

TEAM TIME

  • Facilitate discussions about the day, teach through the Bible study, and pass along specific words of encouragement to students.

STAFF MEETING

  • Celebrate the wins from the day.
  • Share with your trip leader how you're growing, receive customized mentoring and coaching.

Your Summer at a Glance

End of May

Summer kicks off in Chicago, the last week in May with an all-staff training trip

June And July

You'll head to your mission site! Every week one youth group team will join you for their mission trip. You'll be investing in the students, serving in local ministries and growing your leadership.

First Week of August

Reunite with all of the interns and staff for a debrief experience. You'll worship together, tell stories, rest, eat great food, and have a ton of fun.

Summer Fundraising

Our interns are equipped to raise $1,900 to cover the cost of the internship, plus up to $6,000 for their summer stipend (optional, but recommended).
