Students currently in their junior or senior level classes pursuing an associate’s degree in:

• Survey and Mapping

What You'll Do

Interns work in a job-shadowing capacity, spending two weeks in each area within the division to learn a variety of projects offered within this career.

• Advanced Technologies:
• Assist in field data collection utilizing terrestrial laser scanners, drones, LiDAR and underwater acoustics survey technology.
• Process and develop highly detailed data sets and deliverables for a multitude of clients ranging from government agencies to chemical plants.
• Coastal:
• Job shadowing senior level professionals to create high accuracy GPS networks that span across the coast.
• Assist in developing survey methodology reports detailing our survey procedures and quality control metrics.
• Exploration and Production:
• Work alongside senior level technicians and project managers to lay out and permit well locations across multiple states.
• Utilize CAD-based drafting software to develop maps, plats, and visuals that help our clients to accomplish their goals.
• Pipeline:
• Assist project managers and senior surveyors on complex projects ranging from river crossings to pipelines that are hundreds of miles long.
• Plot deeds and descriptions of properties along project routes in AutoCAD software and develop information packets for personnel to utilize in field activities.
• Project Management:
• Learn the art of developing scopes of work, preparing cost estimates and creating project timelines.
• Participate in project meetings and develop proper communication skills for before, during, and after project completion.
