System Test Intern (Summer 2027)
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our Core Engineering team as a System Test Engineering Intern. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in system-level verification and validation of intelligent monitoring and power management products. The ideal candidate is passionate about quality engineering, enjoys methodical problem-solving across hardware and software interfaces, and is eager to apply Generative AI tools to engineering workflows.
Responsibilities
- Execute system-level test cases against firmware builds on physical and virtualized test environments, verifying product behavior across network management protocols (Redfish, SNMP, Modbus, BACnet).
- Document and report defects with clear reproduction steps, expected vs. actual results, and supporting logs or captures.
- Participate in defect triage and test review sessions using Agile Development practices.
- Validate product features including web UI, CLI, and API interfaces on intelligent power and monitoring hardware (PDUs, BMCs, environmental sensors).
- Use Generative AI tools to support test documentation, log analysis, and workflow automation.
- Monitor test results for data quality and integrity, identifying discrepancies and collaborating with the team to resolve them.
- Stay current with trends in test engineering and quality assurance, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance your skills and apply new techniques.
Qualifications
- Must be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated work ethic and detail-orientation.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment and produce high-quality work.
- Collaboration and teamwork.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (IP addressing, HTTP/HTTPS, SSH) is a plus.
- Exposure to Linux command-line environments is a plus.
