Transportation Structural Engineering Intern - Summer 2027

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineering Intern - Summer 2027. In this role, qualified candidates will have an opportunity to work with a team of experienced Structural Engineers on a variety of bridge and structure related projects. What You'll Do: Perform structural analysis of bridge and infrastructure project elements Develop load calculations and structural design computations for project components Prepare organized, detailed structural calculations and technical documentation Design and draft structural elements, details, and connection designs Develop plans and specifications using MicroStation software Work under the guidance of Project Managers and Project Engineers Participate in coordination meetings with multidisciplinary project teams Assist with field inspection and condition assessment of bridges and other structures.

What You'll Need: Pursuing a Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited Civil Engineering program, with a concentration in structural engineering. Computer proficiency with Word and Excel MicroStation and/or AutoCAD experience preferred Understanding of structural engineering principles, building codes, and design standards Valid Driver's License Housing, relocation, and transportation assistance are not available for this position.
