Urban Planning Intern

The landscape of suburban Chicago communities continues to evolve, and the City of Park Ridge is no exception. The Community Preservation & Development Department plays a key role in shaping this transformation through construction, environmental health, and economic development initiatives.

We are seeking an Urban Planning Intern to assist with a variety of exciting projects, including Park Ridge’s ongoing district-by-district comprehensive plan update—the first major revision since 1996. This internship offers hands-on experience in municipal planning, community development, and policy research, providing valuable insight into the field of urban planning.

Internship Duration: May - August 2026 (flexible based on candidate availability) Hours: Approximately 30 hours per week
