Requisition Title VDC Engineer Requisition ID 2026-13489 Job Locations US-NY-Syracuse Category Virtual Design and Construction Company : Name Gilbane Building Company Location : Location US-NY-Syracuse Requisition Post Information* : External Company Name Gilbane Development Company Requisition Post Information* : External Company URL http://www.gilbaneco.com/ Position Type (Portal Searching) Full-Time Utilizes 3D design software to identify, communicate, and resolve project challenges Combines all building discipline models into 3D design software coordination model Reviews coordination models for constructability issues utilizing the software’s clash detection capabilities Assigns responsible party(s) for issue resolution; verifies and documents with meeting minutes, submittals, RFIs, and updated models Communicates with internal and external project teams; facilitates meetings to resolve project issues, review schedules, or other project documentation Utilizes Reality Capture technology, such as laser scanning and drones, to support project deliverables Participates in Business Unit (BU) office and department activities including orientation programs, training sessions, and peer group meetings Supports 1 VDC deliverable under supervision KEY COMPETENCIES Communicate Effectively - Listen to understand and clearly convey information in all forms based on the audience to ensure shared meaning of the message. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Information Modeling (BIM) or related field 0-1 years of VDC or BIM Coordination experience Prior utilization of 3D design software is preferred Or equivalent combination of education and experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Strong problem-solving skills Strong time-management and analytical skills Knowledge and functional use of BIM design software Basic understanding of construction documentation Strong interest in design concepts and integrated building components and systems Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team. For Upstate NY, this ranges from $75,000.00-$82,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program. Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan.
