Job Description: Are you a driven, student journalist eager to work in an award-winning newsroom before your senior year? The Wall Street Journal graphics internship offers an unparalleled opportunity for college juniors to gain practical work experience in our award-winning newsroom in New York with mentorship and tailored training sessions. Graduate students enrolled in a degree program by the Final date to receive applications – October 31 – who are returning to school in the fall are also eligible to apply.
Graduating seniors should apply to WSJ News Associates. You will: Produce compelling, and editorially strong, visual journalism, both alone and across teams, that take advantage of your strengths. This may include data-driven interactives, maps, charts, or other explanatory work.
Learn WSJ systems and best practices for the creation of information graphics. You have: Completed at least one prior reporting internship with another professional media organization or published exceptional work with a campus news outlet or as a freelancer. Dedication to high journalism standards.
A demonstrated interest in business reporting is a plus, though prior business or economics reporting experience isn’t required.
Experience with Adobe Illustrator or Data wrapper is required.
Experience with and interest in responsible AI experimentation, data analysis, data-driven projects is encouraged.
Experience with front-end development is a significant bonus. Internship timing: 10 weeks between June and August.
