About the job
The World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh is currently seeking creative, dedicated, and internationally minded intern candidates to help fulfill its mission of convening and connecting people around global issues to build a thriving, competitive, and inclusive Pittsburgh.
The Council's internship program provides undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates with hands-on, real-world experiences through projects that directly correspond to its global education programming efforts both in secondary schools and throughout the community.
Under the direction of a supervisor, an intern would support one of the following core departments through a variety of tasks.
- Youth Programming: assisting with the design and implementation of global learning events and programs for high school students
The internship will be a combination of remote and in-person activities as the Council returns to socially distanced, in-person meetings and events in 2022 in addition to its virtual programming. A laptop or personal computer, reliable access to WiFi, and phone are required, including comfort using virtual platforms such as Zoom, Google Hangouts, and others.
The Council's internship program maintains a competitive application process. We ask that interns commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week. The spring term will be from January through mid-April and will take the student's academic calendar into account. Interns will receive a monthly stipend and Council staff will work with students pursuing academic credit for their work.
Interested applicants should submit the following documents to internships@worldpittsburgh.org by January 7, 2022 to qualify for the spring internship term:
- Cover letter indicating your area(s) of interest from the core departments listed above and what you hope to gain from an internship
- Resume
Questions can be directed to internships@worldpittsburgh.org.
