About the role
Primary Purpose of the Organization:
The Federal Work Study Program is designed to provide financial aid resources through part-time employment for students having documented financial need for assistance in meeting their educational expenses. The program must be a supplement to existing aid for students, thereby increasing part-time job opportunities throughout the campus. With a strong emphasis on total student development, the Division of Student Affairs strives to prepare each student for a productive, ethical and meaningful life after college, while fostering an inclusive campus community in support of the educational mission of the university. We create, direct, and support the environments and programs that complement classroom learning — the places where students learn how to live full, productive lives. Responsibilities include providing administrative and customer service support, assisting students and visitors, preparing program materials, supporting event setup and breakdown, tracking attendance, and assisting with student activities, leadership programs, and special projects. Students should demonstrate strong communication, organization, teamwork, and time-management skills. Job requirements: Applicants must be eligible for Federal Work-Study, enrolled in good academic standing, and willing to assist with occasional evening programs and special campus events as needed. - To be ELIGIBLE for FEDERAL WORK STUDY POSITIONS, students MUST QUALIFY and RECEIVE an AWARD from the FSU Financial Aid Office.
