Job Description We are looking for an Azure Cloud Security & Monitoring Intern to design and develop a proof-of-concept Azure sandbox environment focused on cloud infrastructure monitoring, security, and compliance. This position will be Part-Time and Remote. Only work authorizations that will not require sponsorship now or in the future will be considered.
What You'll Do Design and build a proof-of-concept Azure sandbox environment for monitoring, security, and compliance initiatives Research Azure-native security, governance, and compliance best practices Configure Azure resource monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities Implement and evaluate Azure-native compliance and security control capabilities Develop dashboards, reports, or visualizations to present monitoring and compliance data Document architecture, configuration decisions, findings, and lessons learned Analyze estimated cloud costs and identify optimization opportunities within the proof-of-concept environment Present findings, recommendations, and potential future implementation opportunities to stakeholders Collaborate with technical team members to validate design decisions and project outcomes What You'll Need Required: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field Foundational understanding of cloud computing concepts and Azure services Knowledge of basic cybersecurity principles, monitoring, and compliance concepts Ability to learn new technologies and troubleshoot technical issues independently Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to document technical findings and present recommendations clearly Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Azure through coursework, labs, certifications, or personal projects Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, or related Azure services Understanding of cloud governance, risk management, or compliance frameworks Exposure to infrastructure-as-code concepts or automation tools
