Civil Field Engineering Internship Opportunity

Time Frame - Summer 2023

Location – Battle Creek, Michigan (Additional locations available)

Duties/Learning:

• Setup and use of Trimble site positioning systems including 3D GPS and robotic total station machine control systems as well as other laser grade control systems
• Field tracking/record keeping using B2W Track and PlanGrid
• Introduction to earthwork/excavating equipment / fleet management

Additional Exposure and Learning:

• Introduction to plan takeoff (sewer, water, drainage, sitework, earthmoving)
• Introduction to electronic takeoff/3D modeling using Trimble Business Center
• Pre-bid meeting attendance and site visits
• Introduction to Cost estimate development using B2W Estimate
• Introduction to project/contract management using Vista by Viewpoint

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows:

• Candidate must be pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Interested in 3D CAD software usage and application
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
• Must be self-motivated to complete tasks and to learn
• Strong Verbal and written communication skills
