Help plan educational and interactive community events and craft effective messaging that engages the public in the importance of environmental stewardship and restoration of the Ballona Wetlands. Interns not only assist in planning but also attend events, take pictures, and share fun & important messages in real-time. Who can apply for an internship?
Anyone 16 years old and up! Internships aren't just for students. If you'd like to gain experience in our restoration, education, or science programs, a Ballona Internship might be right for you.
Do your internships count for school credit?
Check with your school to make sure an internship with a non-profit will count toward your degree. We are happy to work with you on your school's intern requirements, hours verification, and paperwork in order to receive credit.
Are internships paid or unpaid?
Most of our internships are unpaid but can receive school credit. Paid internships will be clearly labeled.
What are the hours requirements?
Most internships require at least 60 hours. This varies based on intern position, but the minimum is typically 3 hours/day once a week. Shifts are varied and there is flexibility to fit your schedule.
