About the role
Interns play an integral role in our office operations and contribute greatly to the Senator’s work on behalf of the Commonwealth and constituents. Our goal is to provide all interns with a meaningful professional experience that will enhance their understanding of government and public service. Senator Markey’s Boston Office is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2026 internship program.
Applicants are encouraged to apply early! Applications deadline: Friday August 7, 2026 Fall Session: September 15, 2026, to December 14, 2026. 12 weeks. Qualifications: Our internship program is best suited for current undergraduate, recent graduate, graduate, and associate’s degree.
Ideal applicants are highly motivated individuals who possess strong writing, research and interpersonal skills, and are adaptable to new or fluid environments. Background in political science, international relations, environmental studies, liberal arts, and communications are desirable, but students of all fields of study are welcome
