Job Overview & Responsibilities
As a Cyber Security Intern at United Launch Alliance you'll gain hands-on experience and will have the opportunity to:
- Gain experience as Cyber Defenders, Engineers, or Governance, Risk, and Compliance specialists to develop their skills to manage risk and defend networks against an ever-growing threat landscape.
- Support incident response efforts, including investigating security incidents, documenting findings, and recommending remediation actions.
- Collaborate on the design and implementation of security solutions to protect the organization's infrastructure and data.
- Help prepare reports and documentation to communicate security status, compliance findings, and risk mitigation strategies to stakeholders.
- Support one or more experienced business professionals in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as experience the day-to-day workings of the business side of the aerospace industry.
Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which help them build a strong network within the ULA community and with fellow interns!
Required Education
- At minimum completed Freshman year of college or university by the time of the summer internship assignment.
- High School/GED
Basic Qualifications
- Must have a minimum college GPA of 2.90 on a 4.00 scale at the time of application; cumulative, no rounding. NOTE: An unofficial transcript is required if you are invited for an interview. We recommend you upload it to your profile when you apply.
- Must have a valid driver's license and motorized vehicle transportation if assigned an internship in Alabama; California; Florida; or Pueblo, Colorado. For Denver, Colorado and Washington, DC, motorized transportation is recommended.
Role Specific Qualifications
- At minimum, actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field from an accredited college or university.
- Preferred degree focus for this internship is in Cyber Security , Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Information or Computer Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, or relevant field of study.
- Must have plans to be enrolled in classes during Fall Semester 2027.
- Ability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
- Must have an interest in learning any of the following:
- Endpoint Protection stack
- Firewall configuration and rule logic
- Risk Management Frameworks and Security Plans
- Email security systems
- Intrusion detection and prevention systems
- Enterprise Security, Cyber Security and user access management
- Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Systems
- Threat Hunting
- Digital Forensics and Incident Response
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
- Effective presentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
