About the role
Our R&D engineers are tasked with designing and developing innovative, breakthrough next-generation medical devices that improve and extend the lives of patients around the world. The Electrophysiology (EP) unit has a broad portfolio of technologies to diagnose and treat heart rhythm disorders. The division provides treatment options for arrhythmias using pulsed field ablation and radiofrequency. Solutions are designed to improve procedural efficiencies and facilitate safer, more predictable left atrial access.
Your Responsibilities will include:

- Use benchtop and preclinical methods to assess prototype devices for therapeutic safety and effectiveness
- Learn how R&D work translates to the clinical environment to inform if products meet user needs.
- Viewing recorded clinical procedures and developing test methods to replicate use.
Required Qualifications:
- Must graduate between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028
- Currently pursuing a bachelors or graduate degree in Biomedical Engineering OR pursuing a bachelors or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science if combined with laboratory experience
- Must have at least one semester of school left post-internship
- Must be able to commit to one of the following full internship program periods: May 17th – August 6th OR May 24th – August 13th
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the Arden Hills, MN Boston Scientific Corporate location
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a PhD or about to start a Master’s program
- Experience with pre-clinical or benchtop work in a school or professional environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams.
- Passion to learn new technologies and find new solutions.
- Lab experience in a school or professional environment.
