About the role

Summary

Canteen Sales Ambassadors support the day-to-day operation of the Canteen at the Brooklyn Campus. Ambassadors welcome and assist customers, operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, maintain an organized and inviting store environment, assist with inventory and online orders, and help create a positive experience for students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist customers with purchases, questions, and general inquiries.
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process sales and other transactions accurately.
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming Canteen environment.
  • Restock merchandise and assist with inventory organization and labeling.
  • Prepare and fulfill online sales orders.
  • Assist with general Canteen operations and facility upkeep.
  • Work collaboratively with other student ambassadors and Canteen staff.
  • Represent the Canteen and university in a friendly and professional manner.

Education Requirements: LIU students currently enrolled in an active degree program and are eligible for Federal Work Study during the period of employment.

Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience:

Ability to learn and operate a POS system.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Previous retail, cashier, or customer service experience.
