History Research Internship

Focused on proactive and relevant academic research on Capitol/Congressional history.

• Assist with scheduling, researching, and developing scholarly programming for a public audience and USCHS members.
• Interns will work with USCHS Scholarship staff on researching facts for the We, the People calendar, planning and executing scholarly events, organizing and executing virtual programming, including researching and vetting potential speakers, and preparing reports and factsheets on Capitol and Congressional history.
• Opportunities to learn, deliver, and assist in scheduling of Capitol/congressional history as part of our historic tour programming.

Program Details

Primarily geared towards undergraduate students, USCHS Interns work in the Society's offices a minimum of 20 hours per week. Specific work schedules are flexible to accommodate outside academic and work commitments. Internship descriptions below reflect the breadth of potential responsibilities and tasks, and some major events and initiatives require support from all Society personnel (including interns assigned to other primary roles); actual assignments may vary. Interns may receive a monthly stipend.

Spring Session – January through April

Applications are accepted September 1 through November 1.

Summer Session – May through August

Applications are accepted January 1 through March 1.
