Ford Foundation Equity Initiative (FFEI) Internship Program at The Henry Ford is a cohort-based program that offers professional development, mentorship, and networking opportunities.

The Ford Foundation Equity Initiative Internship Program Overview and Time Commitment The FFEI Internship Program’s mission is to offer opportunities in museum work to emerging professionals who identify with historically marginalized groups and to invite our interns to think outside the box and explore their careers in new ways. Participants will engage in the program through various bi-weekly professional development workshops hosted on our Dearborn campus.

It is mandatory for participants to attend, and applicants should work with their leadership to ensure proper attendance. Workshops typically occur on Wednesdays during the work week. As part of your employment, we also have our interns participate in an end of cohort survey.

Note: All candidates interested in FFEI Internship roles must have Wednesdays available due to programmatic requirements of the internship. *The 15-week Winter 2027 internship runs January 25–May 7, 2027. Attendance at orientation on January 25 is mandatory.* The inHub Marketing Intern will help share The Henry Ford’s educational offerings with educators and other audiences. Working with the inHub Marketing team, the intern will develop social media content and marketing materials for inHub products and services, including Invention Convention Worldwide.

The intern will review existing content, help identify new opportunities to tell these stories, and gain practical experience planning and delivering marketing campaigns under the guidance of the inHub Marketing Specialist. The intern will help review existing content, identify future content opportunities, and develop social media campaigns that showcase the inHub portfolio to the educator community. This work will directly support efforts to grow awareness of inHub offerings and expand its user base.

Essential

Responsibilities Identifying content to be utilized on social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Capturing and editing photo and video content of onsite programs to be shared on social media. Developing social media copy and design elements that align with The Henry Ford, inHub and Invention Convention Worldwide’s brand voice, mission and vision.

Implementing approved social media posts by scheduling via Sprout Social. Reviewing existing content library to inform future marketing campaigns. Developing additional marketing materials to promote awareness of inHub’s programs.

Working collaboratively with team members throughout the Learning and Engagement and Marketing teams.

Qualifications Currently enrolled or recently completed a college or university program in Marketing, Business, or a related field Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite Knowledgeable of basic use of social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and X Special Skills Comfortable working in a collaborative virtual team environment Comfortable working independently Willing to learn new things Curious Authentic A strong writer and willing to accept constructive feedback Able to multitask, keep information organized and navigate shifting priorities Internship Program

Compensation Interns are paid under the following paygrades: First year intern in school (undergraduate or trade): $17.00 First year intern with completed degree (undergraduate or trade): $18.00 Graduate school and postgraduates: $20.00 Applications will be accepted until November 20th, 2026.
