About the role

Job description

The Maryland Republican Party is seeking motivated, self-starters with a passion for conservative politics to serve as Interns. In this highly flexible, remote program, interns will have the opportunity to learn about the administration of a high-level political organization, working directly alongside senior staff and party leadership to manage and develop the state party in the ramp up to victory in the 2026 midterm elections.

Interns will have the opportunity to work on assignments across all functions of the state party, and can also indicate a preference to work with a specific department (Communications, Field Organizing, Data) where they can focus on more specialized functions. Over the course of the program, interns will gain extensive experience in political management, develop a network of fellow Maryland conservatives, and leave with a new perspective and understanding of political and campaign operations.

The program offers flexibility that can work with any schedule. Whether you can spare just a few hours a week, or can work a full part-time schedule, intern tasks are assigned as needed or proposed, as frequently as the intern prefers, with no set hours.

Additionally, while this program is designed to be fully remote, there will be optional opportunities to work in-person during MDGOP events.

These are unpaid positions, however they are eligible for earning college credit, and all who are passionate about building the Republican Party in Maryland, electing conservatives to office, and learning valuable political management skills in the process, are encouraged to apply by emailing their resume and a description of their interest, preferred departments, and scheduling availability to Ashleigh Presnar at ashleigh@mdgop.org. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
