About the Marketing & Business Development Fellow Position
Washington, DC – Monument Advocacy is looking for a Marketing and Business Development intern who will work at the intersection of business and public policy.
Monument Advocacy works with a wide range of clients, such as Fortune 100 corporations, trade associations, and startup companies to help them engage effectively in today’s public policy environment.
OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:
Our internship program offers interns exposure to the inner-workings of how a top-tier D.C. government relations and public affairs firm operates. Interns engage in professional development through networking coffees and meetings with leaders and associates across all levels.
Current and recent undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply for this position.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Keeping track of political and policy developments to inform internal scopes of work
- Developing social media campaigns and creating content for X and LinkedIn
- Maintaining data integrity, using Customer Relationships Management (CRM) and AI tools
- Conducting market and policy research
- Analyzing trends and data to forecast revenue potential and make recommendations to our team
- Creating ad-hoc policy reports
- Identifying prospects and nurturing leads
- Assisting with copy-editing and quality control of internal and external content
- Assembling metrics reports on social media channels, website, collateral and more
- Media monitoring on behalf of our employees and the firm
- Aiding in the development of outbound proposals and growth strategy
- Responsibly leveraging our in-house AI tools to streamline workflow
WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
- Current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, Political Science, English, Public Policy, International Relations, Communications, Digital Production or other related fields.
- Experience or willingness to learn HubSpot and CRM maintenance.
- Familiarity with Canva or other graphic design platforms.
- Experience with social media management.
- Experience with Claude or other large language models
- Strong writing, project management, the ability to multi-task, and attention to detail.
This internship is in-person.
This is a temporary, full-time, nonexempt internship paying $18.40 per hour. The internship is expected to last up to four months, with an anticipated schedule of approximately 40 hours per week. Occasional evening events may be required, and all working time will be paid in accordance with applicable law.
This temporary internship isn’t eligible for Monument’s company-sponsored health and welfare benefits.
