About the role
Alta Genetics is seeking a motivated, creative, and self-driven Marketing Communications Intern to join our team from May through August 2027. This internship provides hands-on experience in agricultural marketing, content creation, event marketing, storytelling, and digital communications.
Location: Madison, Wisconsin with hybrid work structure Term:May – August 2027 Compensation:Paid internship
Primary Responsibilities
- Support marketing communications initiatives, campaigns, special projects.
- Develop content, graphics, photography, video, and promotional materials for digital and print use.
- Assist with event planning, promotion, execution, and on-site content capture.
Potential Internship Projects
- Alta Showcase Event: Support social media planning, short-form video, promotional materials, and other event-related marketing projects.
- Content Creation & Execution: Support the creation and delivery of content for social media, email, website, and other marketing materials. Includes capturing content such as videos, testimonials, photos, etc.
- Asset Organization and Management: Organize and maintain marketing assets, including photos, videos, graphics, templates, and reusable campaign materials.
- Interest-Based Project or Team Collaboration: Depending on the successful applicant’s skill set, support an independent interest project or collaborate with other members of the Alta marketing team on additional initiatives.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in Marketing, Communications, Agricultural Business, Agriculture, Journalism, Graphic Design, or related fields. Preference for Junior or Senior standing.
- Interest/knowledge in agriculture and the dairy and/or beef industries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with social media and digital marketing best practices.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and ability to absorb information quickly
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally.
