Mental Health Internship

Early Learning Essentials is looking for interns who are innovative, self-starters, outgoing, great with people, dependable, and sensitive to the needs of families and children. Internships are unpaid and hours vary depending on the internship. Interns may be expected to travel within Utah Valley. Spanish speaking and knowledge of Hispanic cultures is highly desirable for internship positions but not required.

Mental Health Internship

• Assist the Disabilities and Behavioral Specialist and Disabilities and Mental Health Director with students on Tier 3 status within the Disabilities and Mental Health program.
• Develop a basic understanding of the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
• Provide direct support in one-on-one and group classroom situations.
• Follow behavior reduction and behavioral skill acquisition interventions.
• Collect and record data on student progress.
• Effectively communicate with students and teaching staff regarding behavioral supports
• Model positive classroom management techniques to teaching staff
