Mining Engineer Intern

Heidelberg Materials, a leader in the construction materials industry in North America and a part of the global HeidelbergCement Group, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Mining Engineer Intern. The intern will assist our engineering team in the development, operation and rehabilitation of land sites which are being excavated for the purpose of extracting minerals, rock and aggregate materials. This position offers a hands-on learning experience in a supportive and knowledgeable environment.

Assist in the planning and design of mine structures, both underground and open pits. Participate in the evaluation of mining projects, using geotechnical and environmental knowledge. Collaborate with senior engineers in preparing drilling and blast patterns.

Help in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Assist in the development of mine plans and reclaiming plans for exhausted mines. Support the teams in the use of software for analysis and simulation of mining operations.

Strong analytical and mathematical skills Proficiency in CAD and other engineering software Knowledge of geotechnical and environmental principles Good communication and collaborative skills Ability to work in a physically demanding environment Coursework or certifications in CAD software, geosciences or related areas are beneficial.
