What You’ll Do:

nternship Objective

Contribute to efficient, high‑quality finishing operations in a fiber‑cement manufacturing environment while building practical engineering skills in process improvement, equipment support, and production optimization.

A successful intern should be able to:

• Support finishing-line operations by monitoring equipment performance and identifying inefficiencies
• Assist with quality checks on surface finish, dimensions, and product defects
• Collect and analyze production data to support process‑improvement initiatives
• Help troubleshoot equipment issues alongside technicians and engineers
• Contribute to lean and 5S activities to improve workflow and reduce waste
• Update documentation and SOPs related to finishing processes and safety practices

What You’ll Bring:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in a relevant discipline at an accredited university, with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029 (rising junior or rising senior).
• Strong academic performance with a minimum GPA of 3.00.
• Available to work full-time for 12 weeks during summer 2027.
• Reliable transportation to and from the work location.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Skills

• Pursuing a degree in chemical, pulp & paper, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, industrial engineering
• Technical aptitude in engineering fundamentals
• Data analysis and basic Excel/statistical skills
• Problem‑solving in process and equipment issues
• Manufacturing awareness (lean, 5S, quality basics)
• Attention to detail in inspections and documentation
• Clear communication with operators and engineers
• Strong safety mindset and willingness to learn

What You’ll Receive:

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $20 to $25 per hour. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and may change over time.
