"Top of the class” future psychologists, physicians, special or gifted educators, social workers, speech, occupational and physical therapists are invited to join our rigorous and academic internship program. All interns will work with our teachers, directors, and consultants to provide both direct assistance and gain one-on-one experience in the classroom. Each intern will also be responsible for developing appropriate behavior intervention plans for at least two different students. This plan will be coordinated, implemented, and tracked under direct supervision. Thus, all interns must attend active trainings led by our director; a psychiatrist, our consulting child psychologist, and our associate director of the summer program; a special educator. Qualifications:

• Rising senior or recent graduate
• Majoring in Special Education, Psychology, Pre Med, Social Work, Speech Therapy or Occupational Therapy
• Minimum 3.5 GPA – This is a very rigorous internship that requires commitment and an “above and beyond and beyond again” work ethic.
• Extremely enthusiastic about learning
• Experience working with children in groups or classrooms
• Well-organized, detail oriented, creative and resourceful, with strong problem solving skills
• Extremely reliable and consistent
• Proactive
• Team-oriented
• Positive, can-do attitude
• Flexible

• Preparing, arranging and maintaining indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate the daily schedule
• Interacting with children according to The Quad’s Social and Emotional Learning Paradigms (training and supervision will be provided on an ongoing basis)
• Supervising children during daily schedule of indoor and outdoor activities, on field trips, outings and special events
• Assisting in maintaining program participation data and completing required daily reports
• There is a rigorous academic portion to this internship and all interns will be required to attend trainings and psychosocial supervision, do ALL required readings, and complete a summer-long project under the guidance of our supervising child psychologist.

Internship specifics:

• Summer: Availability for the full 8 week period: last two weeks of June-first two weeks of August, including Saturday set up the week prior to camp starting and breakdown the day after camp ends. Monday-Friday 8 AM-5 PM
• Do not apply to the internship if you cannot commit to work EVERY DAY during the TIMES LISTED. No exceptions can be made.
• Internships are unpaid, but credit is possible. The Quad Manhattan also works with your academic institution and other programs to support grant and scholarship applications to participate in the internship program.
