About the job

Introduction

NourishCap.com creates educational, documentary, scientific, and artistic shows about health, mind, and mushrooms. Our mission is to expand public embrace of culinary, functional, and practical mushrooms by creating educational content and offering vetted products. By interning with us, you get practical training and real-world projects related to applying your major.

Over the years, we have trained hundreds of interns! We took the time to write this thorough internship description because it answers most of the questions people have and is a preview to how we provide much information throughout each internship. Read this entire description closely and take detailed notes because we quiz applicants about it during the interview process.

Keep the coordination and communication spirit of this role, but sharpen the focus on recruitment and process improvement. The intern will help run outreach and screening, track candidates and team metrics, and refine internal processes, templates, and documentation across departments. Apply AI in a vibe-coding spirit as the department equivalent: use AI tools to draft outreach messages, build simple trackers or dashboards, and automate repetitive coordination tasks, iterating quickly rather than starting from scratch. Like all positions, this role proofreads its own output and maintains clear documentation of its processes, decisions, and results for continuity. Note collaboration with all teams, since HR coordinates across the company. Project-based Learning: Human Resources interns will learn to become comfortable with the interviewing process such as interacting with universities and freelancers, screening candidates, interviewing them, and making recommendations. Interns will also contribute to HR process improvement, such as drafting and improving the internship descriptions, job descriptions, the spreadsheets we use to track tasks, interview scripts, and more. As an HR intern, you will also take the opportunity to participate in and improve onboarding meetings, periodic reviews, exit interviews, ideas of your own, and policies about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Interns also have the opportunity to collaborate with other teams to enhance automation to benefit operational efficiency within the company. Benefits include being social and building relationships in-house. Your training experience will be aligned with the activities of the company during the time of your internship, so while overarching training and responsibilities will be similar to what is described here, the projects and details of the experience will evolve over time.

Training and Responsibilities: May Include But Will Not Be Limited To

  • Learn a methodology for interviewing task and internship candidates
  • Recruit, conduct interviews, and select prospective interns for each department to meet current or anticipated staffing needs
  • Evaluate recruitment and selection criteria to ensure conformance to professional statistical, or testing standards, and recommending revisions as needed
  • Become familiar and communicate with universities and applicants via different career and internship posting platforms
  • Contribute to the improvement of our interview processes, documents, and publications
  • Orient the new employees through regular onboarding meetings/procedures, including but not limited to how to set up accounts and manage technology

  • Attend regular meetings to network and collaborate alongside other teams and departments, preventing isolation and facilitating collaboration

Notes: Think of this internship as an opportunity to apply the skills you’ve gained in the classroom to real-world situations, not as an introduction to skills or an alternative to classes. Also, look for us to give you the kind of real-world business context and feedback that professors generally cannot provide, not only about your specific skill area but (perhaps more importantly!) feedback from perspectives outside of your major, such as how various other aspects of the business drive needs and decisions for your projects. This is by no means an exhaustive list, but it indicates the many projects taking place. You might focus on some of these to the exclusion of others. Tasks and training will change according to busi
