Special Events Trainee

The Special Events Trainee will play a key role in the planning and execution of MTC’s fundraising and donor stewardship events, including our Fall Benefit, Opening Night parties, and donor receptions. Working closely with the Special Events team, the trainee will develop a deep understanding of how a nonprofit theatre raises critical contributed revenue.

The Special Events Trainee will:

• Assist with event logistics for large-scale benefits and intimate gatherings, including vendor management, venue coordination, and timeline creation
• Support the execution of events on-site, acting as a point of contact for vendors and guests
• Conduct prospect research to identify potential attendees and donors
• Help manage event communications, including mailings, email blasts, and invitations
• Track ticket sales and RSVPs, and maintain attendee lists
• Prepare meeting materials and support the administrative needs of the department
• Assist with the coordination of auction solicitation and management
• Support the planning and execution of the Corporate Partner night and other cultivation events
• Process invoices and assist with budget tracking
