About the role
This position is responsible for organizing gardening initiatives on campus and maintaining a comprehensive Gardening Great Book that records the effort and outcomes of each harvest.
- Educate the student body about sustainable food programs on campus and in the local community that provide an ethically sound source of calories through the Practicums/Tutorials and/or events
- Manage the Organic Garden and Food Forest, and the NatiMediFly, located on the Caples campus and must offer tutorials in the space at least once per academic year
- Work with Landscape Representative concerning campus land use for gardening projects and the state of fruit trees and edible plants on campus
- Responsible for sharing the care for the care for the coffee shop, memorial fruit trees and other shared green spaces on campus.
- This role will responsibly maintain working relationships with Environmental Studies and Facilities staff, including external contractors
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be an enrolled student, must be in good academic standing (maintain minimum cumulative institutional 2.5 GPA for undergraduate students and 3.0 GPA for graduate students)
- Experience in student government of similar leadership roles is highly preferred.
- Familiar with the Student Government Constitution and Statutes.
