Student, Intern, Power Delivery Engineering, Summer 2027

Intern Job Description:

Working in a team environment to assist engineers in day to day activities including but not limited to:

• Performing design based on project scoping and site visits
• Utilizing design software to model surveyed field configurations
• Preparing operational one-line drawings
• Validate estimating prices and equipment units, ensuring material is properly ordered and staged for upcoming projects
• Managing projects that are in construction
• Completion of as-built documentation
• Participate in weekly planning coordination calls
• Work on special projects to assist in improving grid reliability
• Responding to equipment failures
• Support lab testing and operations
• Transmission Substation and Line database management
• Support of business analytic processes through data mining and reporting, as well as performing a wide variety of detailed engineering analysis in transmission-related areas such as planning, economic analysis, maintenance, design, project management and construction, and operations
• Travel may be required for the position

Education Requirements:

• Candidates must be actively enrolled and pursuing a bachelors, masters or doctorate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering from a four-year institution for the duration of the internship.

• Candidates who will be classified as a junior or beyond at the time of hire are preferred.
• Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 (on a 4.0 scale), verified through an official transcript from the previous semester.
