Student - Video Production Assistant

The Language Hub in the Department of Languages and Cultures is seeking highly motivated self-starters with experience in video production. • Assist the Language Hub manager in developing, executing, promoting, and maintaining projects to enhance and carry out the Hub vision and mission.
• Provide training, orientation, and assistance to students and faculty in creating a variety of video projects.
• Create, maintain, and organize tutorial guides, reports, and promotional and marketing materials.
• Assist with daily operations, which may include the following: assist students, faculty, and tutors; open/close; answer phone/email; organize learning materials; scheduling; light cleaning and general upkeep.
• Assist in hosting events in the Language Hub.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.

• Must be a current UVU student.
• Available to work 15–20 hours per week during normal business hours (9:00 am – 5:00 pm) and some evening hours, to be determined.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional experience with audio recording, patch bays, routing, and signal flow.
• Native or near-native proficiency in ASL, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, or other language.
• General understanding of second-language acquisition.
• Experience in event planning.

• Ethical, responsible, and motivated self-starter.
• Interpersonal skills in providing high-quality customer service.
• Skills in problem-solving, time management, and the ability to adhere to schedules and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently in a collaborative team environment.
• Knowledge of standard techniques, equipment, software, maintenance, and file formats in audiovisual production.
• Experience with camera operation, lighting, sound design, and editing.
• Experience with content creation, social media management, and/or podcasting.
• General computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc.).
