Summer Camp Counselor

Junior Camp Counselor

Open to men and women 2 years out of high school — traditionally college sophomores and older. This position is residential and is all about working, teaching and living with younger children.

Responsibilities for All Positions Include

• Providing a dedicated role model to the campers and other staff
• Leading with organization, punctuality, intent, creativity, direction, and supervision during activities and trips
• Building youth development on the Sanborn mission
• Interacting effectively and appropriately in our fast-paced, youth-centered, community-living program
• Taking ownership for your personal attitude, behavior, and knowledge
• Working with other staff to provide a quality experience for all members of the camp community
• Adapting your personal habits to the philosophy, policies, and ideals of the camp — including a comprehensive understanding of and respect for our time-off and alcohol policy

All positions are for the full summer season. Some positions have additional pre-camp training requirements which will be discussed with directors during the interview process. A strong desire to work closely with children is necessary.
