About the role:
As a Chemical Engineering intern, you will report to the Chemical Engineering Manager and be located at our Columbia, SC facility. This is a paid full-time onsite position for the summer, May - August 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and update the key Process Safety Information (PSI) for the Process Safety Management (PSM) covered processes and department operations
- Developing Equipment and Instrument Specifications, reviewing and developing improved Preventative Maintenance procedures and templates, scanning and entering information in Leading 2 Lead database
- Approve production operating procedures, Job Safety Analysis, work standards, maintenance of equipment procedures, Preventative Maintenance (PM) procedures and PM frequencies
- Support department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures for manufacturing operations, ensuring that you follow the Change Control Process (CCP).
- Help develop an electronic database/library containing historical and current technical articles. This database/library should also contain experimental studies and reports associated with the production/metallurgy of zirconium or zirconium-related subjects/processes. Additionally, contribute to and maintain this database/library.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering
- Completed Sophomore year of college
- Experience to support manufacturing and production processes and equipment
