Job Overview & Responsibilities
As a Supply Chain Intern at United Launch Alliance, you'll gain hands-on experience and will have the opportunity to:
- Assist Senior Level Business professionals with the development of procurement specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment and services.
- Prepare Request for Quotes and Request for Proposal packages.
- Assist with conducting bidders conferences, analyzing and evaluating supplier proposals, negotiation of subcontract provision, select subcontract source, create subcontract documents and subcontracts.
- Intricate participation with subcontract compliance to ensure strict adherence to Federal Acquisition Regulations; as well as, internal ULA command media.
- Negotiate and coordinate additions, deletion, or modifications to subcontracts as coordinated with other ULA functional areas and suppliers.
- Coordinate with engineering, quality, and finance as required to mitigate supplier performance risk and resolve supplier issues in a timely manner.
- Assist Senior Level Business professionals with timely resolution of issues that arise with Quality, Receive, Accounts Payable, Manufacturing, supplier or any other functional area as required.
- Support one or more experienced business professionals in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as experience the day-to-day workings of the business side of the aerospace industry.
Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which help them build a strong network within the ULA community and with fellow interns!
Required Education
- At minimum completed Sophomore year of college or university by the time of the summer internship assignment.
- High School/GED
Basic Qualifications
- Must have a minimum college GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale at the time of application; cumulative, no rounding. NOTE: An unofficial transcript is required if you are invited for an interview. We recommend you upload it to your profile when you apply.
- Must have a valid driver's license and motorized vehicle transportation if assigned an internship in Alabama; California; Florida; or Pueblo, Colorado. For Denver, Colorado and Washington, DC, motorized transportation is recommended.
Role Specific Qualifications
- At minimum, actively pursuing a bachelor's degree with a focus in Business, Supply Chain, Acquisition, Contract Management, or relevant field from an accredited college or university.
- Must have plans to be enrolled in classes during Fall Semester 2027.
- Ability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
- SAP knowledge is preferred. Power BI knowledge is preferred.
- Effective presentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to complete an internship at any of the below ULA's locations:
- Decatur, AL
- Denver, CO
