The Basics

Hours

Internships are full-time, 40 hours a week, with the potential for overtime, which is compensated.

Location

Our Maumee office is located about 2 miles from I-475, right off of Reynolds Road near the Ohio Turnpike exit. We have free parking and a host of restaurants, shopping and bars conveniently located nearby.

Dress Code

No client meetings? Break out your jeans and hoodie — even if it's not Friday. Our 'dress for your day' is hugely popular and emphasizes our work-life balance program. We ask team members to use good judgment when deciding what to wear to work.

Flexibility

Have a doctor's appointment? Need to run an errand? Our flexible time-off policy allows our team to take time off when they need it most, provided work objectives continue to be met. We recognize what is most important your well-being.

Designed for students in their junior or senior year, this isn't a 'fetch-coffee-and-donuts' internship. Our interns have the chance to do real work with real professionals and clients during the most critical time of the year.

What our Interns are saying

"My internship at William Vaughan allowed for me to connect with my team members and get to know them on a personal level." – UT Accounting Graduate

"I didn't feel like I was doing intern work. I was treated as an equal." – BGSU MAcc Student

Your Typical Day

If you're an accounting student, you know about "Busy Season." From January to April each year, we offer full-time tax and audit internships that will give you a taste of what it's like to work for one of the best accounting firms in the Midwest. You will be responsible for a variety of duties, including:

  • Preparing trust and individual income tax returns
  • Analyzing tax notices and drafting responses
  • Assisting in tax planning and preparing projection
  • Utilizing project management software and performing tax research

Your CPA Exam

Many of our interns are hired full time and when this happens, WVC will front the expense of a CPA Exam Review course of your choice. The firm also pays your exam fee along with providing you study time and time-off to take the exam.

Your Training & Onboarding

We pride ourselves on giving each intern a "real world" experience with the chance to do REAL work with REAL clients. Our training program connects you with the right tools, resources and knowledge to ensure your success.

Your Career Development

WVC's one-on-one advising program connects you with a Career Coach the moment you're hired. Designed to foster professional relationships between seasoned and less experienced employees, our program pairs new hires with senior management. Career Coaches assist employees in improving individual performance and provide a constant, reliable resource to advisees throughout their careers.
