About the role

The IT Systems Intern will support The Public's technology infrastructure and digital workflow. Tasks may include providing basic tech support to staff, maintaining and organizing shared digital files, assisting with database management, supporting ticketing and CRM systems, and helping implement new software or hardware solutions. The intern will gain practical experience with arts administration technology, learning how digital tools support every department of a producing theater.

Duration

Start immediately and continue through mid-December 2025, with the possibility of extending through the end of May 2026.

Hours

10-15 hours per week with flexibility around your academic schedule. Combination of in-office and remote work.

Internship Duties

  • Provide basic tech support to staff (software, hardware, connectivity).
  • Assist in maintaining databases, file-sharing systems, and backups.
  • Help troubleshoot and test new software or digital tools.
  • Document workflows and provide user-friendly guides for staff.
  • Other tasks as required

Internship Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with a disposition for flexibility and customer service experience.
  • Interest in IT, computer science, or digital systems within an arts environment
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and HP laptops preferred but not required.
  • Comfort with troubleshooting software and hardware problems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and patience when supporting non-technical users.
  • Possess an appreciation of the arts and passion for advancing the theater's mission
  • Ability to demonstrate and support the Theater’s racial justice efforts by applying anti-racist tools and practices to individual and departmental processes and systems, and to contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and engagement with persons of all cultures, identities, and backgrounds (for more information see www.ppt.org/racialjustice)
