JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
*Please note that the selected candidate must meet access authorization and fitness for duty requirements of a nuclear power station.*
This position is responsible for providing assistance to and supporting Nuclear Operations within the Engineering, Major Projects department. The selected intern candidate will be expected to report onsite to Entergy's Nuclear Site, River Bend Station, which is located in St. Francisville, Louisiana.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Working in a team environment to assist in day-to-day activities, including but not limited to:
- Explore possible career opportunities by meeting senior executives, becoming members of business resource groups, participating in community service projects, and contributing to departmental goals
- Assist with preparation of materials for department meetings, calls, and presentations
- Work with design engineers and management to assist as needed on various projects
- Develop elements of design change packages with supervisory oversight
- Perform engineering calculations within established standards and procedures
- Investigate corrective actions for operating problems
- Perform calculations on plant capability and efficiency improvement
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
- Candidates must be actively enrolled and pursuing a bachelors, masters or doctorate degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Nuclear Engineering from a four-year institution.
- Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student in an bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree program (full-time or part-time), pursuing a degree in the relevant field outlined above.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8, verified through an official transcript from the previous semester.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
- Computer skills: familiar with various databases, as well as Windows environment and Microsoft toolkit (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint).
WORKING CONDITIONS:
