JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Entergy's Power Development organization is seeking a motivated intern to support the development and management of utility-scale power projects from initial opportunity evaluation through preliminary engineering, contracting, and project approval. The intern will assist with project analysis, cost estimation, stakeholder coordination, documentation, and other project management tasks while gaining practical experience in traditional project development. The position also includes a unique opportunity to support MISO interconnection activities for projects in the interconnection queue.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Working in a team environment to assist in day-to-day activities, including but not limited to:

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT & MANAGEMENT (Primary Responsibilities):

  • Assist with project economic analysis—help gather capital and operating cost data, support financial modeling, and contribute to project viability assessments.
  • Support site assessment and evaluations—assist with site data compilation, permitting requirement identification, and site feasibility documentation.
  • Help develop project proposals—organize project summaries, technical specifications, supporting data, and presentation materials for reviews and stakeholder discussions.
  • Coordinate project documentation and contract support—assist with RFP responses, maintain project files, and organize correspondence.
  • Research and summarize industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitive landscape relevant to project opportunities.
  • Prepare project reports, spreadsheets, presentations; conduct research; handle multiple assignments; and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

MISO INTERCONNECTION SUPPORT (Supplementary Responsibilities):

  • Assist with MISO interconnection request preparation—organize application materials and support documentation.
  • Track interconnection milestones and study timelines per current MISO procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

Candidates must be actively enrolled and engaged in pursuing their Undergraduate or Master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Science/Management, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.

Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.

Minimum experience required of the position

Some work experience beneficial but not required.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

  • General business and finance knowledge; basic understanding of project management principles.
  • Familiarity with utility industry, power systems, or project development is helpful but not required.
  • Self-starter with strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office/365 tools—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills; strong and positive team attitude and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks.
